I was trying real hard today to come up with a subject for today’s post. I was so busy with the QuickBooks webinar this morning, dealing with a crazy non-customer, massaging 4 clients and doing a back wax. It finally dawned on me – duh. Talk about the QuickBooks webinars.
A lot of you know I pretty much wrote the book on QuickBooks for massage therapists. <Insert shameless plug here.> It’s on sale and you should get it. In this textbook/guidebook/financial-mentor-business-owner-advice-book, you’ll find just about everything you could possibly want to know about recording your business transactions in QuickBooks. But that’s not all it has. So much more. Accounting terminology so you can actually have a intellectual conversation with any banker, financier, angel investor, prospective investor, customer, creditor, insurance company and more. Contractual stuff in dealing with deal sites, employees, independent contractors, landlords and people you do business with.
I volunteered to do the QuickBooks webinars with the Massage Learning Network, which is a free site exclusively for massage therapists to learn about various different things – not just about finance and business but modalities, ethics, customer retention, etc. It’s a great resource. In the webinars that I’m offering, there’s a lot to learn about how to use QuickBooks in your business. Some of you may not know about the Massage Learning Network so I thought I would mention it because the site is truly committed to be educational and provides for commentary and questions on what the instructor is teaching. I would definitely recommend checking it out as a resource. Some people in attendance participate in the webinar and have their new finance book in front of them to take notes and to jot a few things down. Learning is awesome.
So far, the QuickBooks seminars have had 4 episodes out of 6. We’ve covered creating a company file, setting up preferences, customers, vendors, lists, inventory, the general ledger. chart of accounts, receiving payments, entering and paying bills, etc. Next time we’re going to be focusing on creating reports, and wrapping up with online integration to help streamline your business activities in the back office.
I truly hope you’ll join us for the next QuickBooks webinar! The next one is slated for September 12th at 11 a.m. CST. For more information, be sure to follow the Massage Learning Network’s Facebook page. You’ll be able to stay in the loop on the next airing of QuickBooks: The Series, as well as other webinars available to you. And also, be sure to follow ThrivingMassageBiz’s page to get the updates as well as other information on how to handle certain business issues.
Looking forward to connecting with you and answering any questions you have!
